Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk is a medium size twin-engine helicopter designed by Lockheed Martin Corporation and built by Sikorsky. It is used primarily for search and rescue, vertical on-board delivery, anti-ship warfare, cargo and troop transport, medical and other evacuation procedures. Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk has a range of 245 miles and is capable of all-weather operations. It can fly as high as 13000 feet at speeds exceeding 160 knots. Its sophisticated cockpit allows for diverse missions in difficult conditions.
Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk is very effective as anti-submarine and surface warfare platform. It has replaced SH-60B and SH-60F and it is far more effective than the latter. MH-60R is also capable of electronic warfare at which is very successful. Currently more than 300 MH-60R are in use. NAVYs of Saudi Arabia, Australia, Denmark and USA are its primary users. Hellenic NAVY also has MH-60R on order. With its versatile capabilities, Sikorsky Seahawk is one of the best helicopters in the World today.
